Emergency response agencies and officials from the Lagos State Government were deployed to monitor affected locations and assist residents where necessary. Authorities urged people living in flood-prone communities to remain vigilant, avoid blocked drainage channels, and comply with safety advisories. The government also appealed to residents to stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse into drainage systems, noting that blocked waterways contribute significantly to urban flooding.
Weather experts have warned that more rainfall is expected during the peak of the rainy season, raising concerns that additional flooding may occur if preventive measures are not taken.
